Grand Illumination this Sunday
Celebrate Grand Illumination with us this Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010, in Colonial Williamsburg’s Historic Area. Musical performances on several stages begin at 4:45 p.m. Fireworks displays from three locations—the Palace, Magazine, and Capitol— begin at 6:15 p.m.

Since I’ve been to Williamsburg in the winter but not for Grand Illuminations, which historical restaurants will be open for dining, both for the illuminations and in January when I’ll return with friends?

Dogs are welcome in the Historic Area, but only service animals are permitted inside the buildings. Come out and visit! It’s going to be a beautiful day.

LOVED the Grand Illumination last night. 1st time I’d been to it since they moved it to Sundays (when I went to it, it was on a weeknight). My son had never seen Williamsburg at night before – he loved it!
Just wondering one thing – what was the est attendance last night????

It was a pleasure to have you as our guest at Grand Illumination; we hope you and your son will come back to enjoy it for many years to come.
Because the Historic Area has no entrance gate or turnstiles, attendance can be difficult to quantify. However, early estimates suggest that our crowd of revelers was very strong, and somewhat larger than last years’.
