75th anniversary of FDR’s visit

Franklin D. Roosevelt and W.A.R. GoodwinJuly 5, 2011, marks the 75th anniversary of the visit of President Franklin D. Roosevelt and First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt to Williamsburg. The President and his entourage visited Bruton Parish Church and met with the Reverend Dr. W.A.R. Goodwin, rector of the church.

Colonial Williamsburg has enjoyed countless distinguished visitors and important people from all over the world. And sometimes we get visits from famous animals. Guess which famous canine had its picture taken on Duke of Gloucester Street!
